Laminating Process

Laminating is a post-printing process in which a thin protective transparent plastic film is applied to the surface of the printed surface. This extra lamination film can improve the rigidity of your custom printed box and make your packaging box water-resistant to a certain extent. Laminating Overview

The ordinary glossy or matte laminating gives your custom printed packaging box a either glossy or matte finish outside with a thin PET film. This is a common finish for E-Flute, F-Flute corrugated boxes, folding paper cartons, rigid paper boxes, cosmetic paper boxes and paper bags.

Glossy Laminating

The glossy laminating provides a more brilliant glossy sheen to the custom paper box than the UV glossy coating or varnishing. The shiny finish and is great to make the colors pop. The glossy laminating works effectively with the silver foil stamping to achieve a brilliant visual effect.

Matt Laminating

The matte laminating is an effective way to give the custom packaging box a luxury look and feel. A matte finish will also take away any glare and will often look cleaner as fingerprints won’t show after someone had touched it.

Also, the matte laminate works great with foil stamping finish and spot UV finish. The great contrast makes the color looks more vibrant and crisp.

Soft Touch Laminating

The soft touch laminating is a special matte laminating method that gives your custom printed packaging box a soft touch finish. The film used for the soft touch laminating is a special BOPP film, which gives you the soft touch feel. The matte surface presents a pleasant velvety effect very similar to the peach skin. It is widely used for high-end packaging, such as the cosmetic paper box, jewelry paper boxes, custom folding cartons, cardboard gift boxes and rigid paper box.

The soft touch paper box is an exceptional package for premium applications. This laminating film is printable, glue-able and stamp-able and it works great with embossing, debossing, spot UV finish and foil stamping finish.
